‘Future Farmer of Yorkshire’ Tom Coast-Brown Switches to Mayo Boluses

Tom Coast-Brown farms with J G Waterhouse at Fourth Mile Stone Farm near York. He is a ‘Future Farmer of Yorkshire’ and won Grassland Farmer of the Year 2022 for Yorkshire & Humberside.

 

“We have been using Mayo’s Youngstock Grazer Bolus for 3 years now. Historically we had always used a more expensive competitor’s bolus. The first year we decided to trial the two products side by side to see what the results showed us at the end of the grazing season.”

We also use the All Guard Cattle Bolus on our bulling heifers. This year we only had 1 heifer out of 95 scanning beyond week 6 in a 9-week block which we are over the moon with. The heifers are hitting over 1kg live weight gain on just grass.
